Description

I've just heard that my close friends Alan and Marita have died tragically in a horror collision with a runaway truck. They leave gaping holes in the lives of many - family, friends, colleagues, students and many more - deprived of their warm and caring personalities, their razor-sharp intellect and humour, and their insatiable appetite for exploring the world and their place in it. In their sixties but oblivious of their age, they were full of life and energy, always outdoors, camping or competing in grueling endurance sporting events, cycling, gliding or kayaking - truly in their prime... This image is for the passing flash of light from these two wonderful individuals and dynamic loving couple, dedicated parents and grandparents, and deeply beloved friends. Their absence will reverberate for many years in the collective consciousness of all who were privileged to share in their lives. I choose to remember them as unfettered beings soaring together above the wilderness they loved.

A horrible tragedy... I am sorry for all who will be affected. Even though I didn't know them it makes me think of John Donne's For Whom The Bell Tolls...especially " Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee. " The love you feel for this couple is obvious and it is a great loss to all of us. Beautiful tribute and sentiment. God bless your dear friends.
