Rome, San Martino ai Monti. People usually visit this church to see Michelangelo's Moses, and don't look round at other marvels. Not far from here in roman times there was a Porticus, a square with a colonnade all round, the covered area organized as a gallery of paintings. The Porticus Liviae no longer exists, but a number of the Doric columns that ran around it's open area has been reused in San Martino, a unique set of beautiful columns unparalleled in any other monument in Rome ...
