Nice capture!! You're not going to believe this, but I just uploaded a photo of a mantis as well! Of course mine's 12 feet tall and made of wood! :-D The real ones are a little more of a challenge to photograph, and you got a good one!

Excellent shot, You know nobody believes me, and I didn't have a camera to prove it, but I've seen on of these that had to be close to a foot long. And I live in the San Fernando Valley, California. Some people suggested I should have grabbed it and put it in a jar, I just looked at them funny, and said, "Yeah Right?!?!"
