Description

You won't believe it...ehm, I mean, you'll believe it! they pulled my aprons out as obscene, because I hadn't made a thumbnail. Frankly, I didn't think they were so 'hard', I had put 'nudity' as a joke, and only because Flavia insisted! After I put a correct thumbnail they put it back. For those who want to know, I bought at least one of the aprons, together with my students, in my school trips to Rome years ago. They are a typical souvenir students, from primary school upwards, buy for their parents, elder siblings, etc. to sport on BBQ parties and so on. These aprons were sold by Pakistani immigrants, whose religion didn't find anything sinful in selling them. But from some of your comments, it looks that at least some sensibilities might be shocked. The (ancient) Romans used to say: O tempora, o mores! (Oh, what times, oh, what customs!). I'm going to show you in some of the next postings what we usually show our students, freely exhibited even in churches and the Vatican. In front of the stall selling the aprons there is the garden, open to the public, of the Emperor Diocletianus' Baths (Thermae), which are part of the splendid National Roman Museum (Museo Nazionale Romano). This is one of the scenes I saw. Thank you for your kind comments.

Lovely image, the kitty is cute almost like she joined as a prop for your photo. And I loved the apron shot, I wanted you to pick me up one on your next trip, they were humourous and not obscene at all in my opinion. LOL nice work.

this is a WONDERFUL IMAGE.... i am sickened by people who think the nude human body (in pictures) is somehow obscene and yet find nothing at all wrong with wars and other mayhem. these are the ones who don't 'believe' in evolution, as if it took believing, but do 'believe' that the end times are near. i'm sick of not being able to say @#$% here but having photos of military planes which have been responsible for millions of deaths across the world posted as though they were works of art. morality has certainly got in the way of morals.

Dear Friend, I regret to signal you that the photo which you have just loaded cannot be kept on this site in the state! Indeed, the girl sat on the margelle of the fountain, shows far too much flesh of the thighs, and can shock the prude. It should have better been worth that she is in trousers on the other hand it would be nice to me that its shoulders being bare, you topped up a shawl or even better a pretty ‹pullover over› there sky blue. On the other hand, I am very embarrassed to see a cat on this photo, and even if it is an animal with fur, his presence could be a sign of latent obscenity next to the girl. Ausi, I thank you for withdrawing this cat of the photo, because seen his position, he has nothing has to make there. With my sincere admiration for your talents; Claude19

Beautiful scene. The lighting is really wonderful. Peaceful place to read a book sitting by a cat. I too loved the aprons, very cute & funny. Those who have no sense of humor can wear buckets on their heads!

Peaceful scene with wonderful soft lighting. TimTripp is remarkably accurate in his comment on morality. Sandra, you live in a country that is 4000 years old. We in the States are less than 400 years old. Unfortunately that makes us quite immature. Be patient with us, we are still children.

It must be 'hard' to be so sensitive to the obscenity of others! I thought them very funny and not at all obscene. Mark said it well. Maybe we'll grow out of our prudishness in time. This is a lovely image! Beautiful place, woman, and cat! Excellent capture. "O tempora, o mores!" That's a great phrase. I'm going to remember that. I'm looking forward to your next posting!
