yes if you had a cotton mattress it would meldow here. So what they did was gett moss and some how take the gray off. I forgot how they did it with out burning the moss[guess they smoked it off] . anyway it very springy and will not meldow. Plus it cooler for summer for sure than cotton. Moss will keep it shape too as for cotton you would have to keep turning the mattress over every so ofter. there is a baby bed next to the masters bed here. plus a woman in the corner to show size.

Memories sublimates my friend. I adore antiquities . They tell in a glance. I suppose whatever process is used for the bleaching of the moss, it also removed the bugs. I can only guess how soft it was and probably not that difficult to replace when it was all used up. Outstanding information and the photos are really great!
