Description

You may have already recognized this image from an earlier post, if not, take a look! She's out there. Since the day I set the original "Fresh Canvas of Youth" up on the gallery walls I have wanted to return to work on it again. It always felt to me like it was meant to be presented in black & white. Do you ever get that feeling? So, last night I decided to give it a go and see whether I was right or wrong. The thing is, once I had finished ... there was a similar feeling, like something was missing. It's those eyes, which make the color portrait so powerful. I just could not leave their beauty behind in the studio. So, you see the result. And you get to decide whether I should have left well-enough alone. Me? I like them both and I thought I'd give others the chance to consider the variations as well. Just a note: I went back to the original raw render, developed the B&W rendition and added the subtle grain. Gradually I brought her eye color back in. I did not merely convert the finished original. Cheers! Terry

Though she IS looking beautiful in B&W I prefer the color version of her. Youth and color just go together SO very well! Apart from my preference I love her innocent and wonderful face, the lighting creates a wonderful atmosphere and so does de DOF. You did well here Terry.. very well!

I really love this. The grain is really wonderful and warm feeling to me. I'm afraid I cannot pick one over the other, they are both lovely.
