m so glad Andrea noticed & reminded you of 500, I mean I know it's an 'arbitrary' number but in this life we should celebrate wherever we can! Your gallery is simply one of the best & most consistently insightful on this site, hands down. I remember that you hovered around 490 for a while ('cause you kept removing images, lol—the sign of a true artist, btw, always honing & editing & bettering)...and I wondered, "will he ever reach 500, lol"...I've been absent from RR, but when I saw this I made a note to get here as soon as I could. (I had RR visitors the day you posted this, and I didn't have time to do it justice!) The image—even though it's spare—captures things you do uniquely: The single chair caught with so much detail, it's a whole universe in itself; your unsparing eye for expressive-decay and other processes that only certain photographers embrace; the uncanny detail of the grasses, yet the way you make them a single 'carpet', like an organic shag; your inimitable way with sepias, how they have many tones & hues in them; your inimitable "threes" (though sometimes it's fours too lol), ie, the chair & two grass tones (lighter & darker); your always sensitive use of shadow & light—just under the chair for example—and the way you give us movement with so few elements—here, the way the grass flows down the frame like a big river. And...the unblinking sense of truth, I don't know a better word. 500 is a chance to say, again, what a privilege your gallery is & how grateful I am to have been in it so many times. Wonderful image, wonderful gallery, and I wish you 5 million more. What a wonderful place this is... (I'll return the next day or 2 to see the other images I've missed...)

This is a perfect marker for your 500th post! I love the mood of this, it's elegant like your other work; it always reminds me of visual poetry...kind of like Haiku, at least that's how it always strikes me, and that's one of the many, many reasons why I enjoy the work in your gallery. It's always so rich and evocative, and as Mark says, that there are whole universes in your images. They're always subtle and unspoken, more like caresses and whispers than anything else and that's always what draws me in the most. Congratulations on 500! I look forward to at least 500+ more!
