Description
This clematis vine has kept my attention all growing season. On August 13th the seed balls were starting to fray. Andrea kindly showed what stage came next on her clematis here .
I hoped for the "bearding effect, but my seed balls are falling apart as per the bottom photo (brightness and contrast added for detail - colors are untouched).
Not what I expected.

Fascinating progress...I always like this sort of progression.

Wow! Your longer growing season even changes how these transform. I've never seen the 8-13 or 9-20 stages. Ours are still at the 4-20 stage, in fact. Very nice presentation, Dick.

wonderful to see all these stages as a flower

Wonderful progression of images! I tried this with something I don't know the name of, and only had a slight success;)

Ah, the final stage of transformation! Lovely! As I said, you never get bored with a clematis. Great montage.

It gives me associations to the Milky way. The big theme in the small and a small theme becoming big. Marvelous photo shot!
