Description
Over the weekend I was strolling through Summer's gallery. She has posted several portraits, which caught my attention, of a friend who likes to pose for her camera: The Innocent Bandit Feline Reflections Sleepyhead The reason my eyes smiled at these images is because I have a companion nomad who shares this house with me. He's a furry face who goes by the same name as Summer's friend for the same reason: they both prefer to wear a mask in the presence of two-leggers. This bandito friend of mine is quite amused by my preoccupation with this window before me. Sometimes he will help with my clutter by pushing my papers to the floor before he sprawls across the desk to try and get what I'm so fascinated with. Occasionally he will swat at the cursor as it moves about the screen. Swiftly bored, he always ends up shaking his head and moving on to a better crib from where he can look out a real window; in search of something more interesting, like the blue-eyed Siamese next door. His favored spot is the bookshelf directly over my right shoulder. When he's bored with the view outdoors he will now-and-then glance back at whatever I'm working on and offer his unique, yet unsolicited, pearls, such as: "What's with all the shadows? You can't afford another lamp?" and "You call that an interesting expression? The Schnauzer across the street has more character than her." Nice, huh? Don't you just love a critic who won't put his own work up on the walls? What can I do? It's in his blood. I blame the Egyptians. Long ago they used to worship these furry creatures and cats have never forgotten that. Terry

I wouldn't be so quick to wish for Bandit to put his art on the walls. Males don't paint, they spray. Its obvious why the ancient Egyptians worshiped cats. They were very wise in the ways of the spiritual and mystical as are cats. Your companion has a good point. Why would you want to sit in front of a false window when you could sit in front of a real one, soaking up the sun and receiving the odd belly rub.

Great shot. I love the face on the wall who seems to be enjoying the scene you describe as well. Very cute and funny.

Made me chuckle, as the thumbnail looks like it is a proper fella stood by Bandit, lol.

Dogs have owners, cats have staff. I'm a cat person: I love their independence, their attitude (none of this "Oh, I love you forever as long as you feed me" manipulation our dogs seem to operate with) - cats just expect the best and accept whatever, their tidiness... not going to see a cat bring in a ton of redwood bark and cobbler's pegs from out the back forty, and when they're young, their demonic, hyper-effervescent sense of play. Looks like a bandit with a black heart, Terry - got to just LOVE him!!!

I think Robyn described cats and dogs perfectly. Your bandit is a handsome looking fella with those green eyes and his black mask. You did a beautiful job of describing his persona. My cat Trina will walk in front of my monitor and block my view, telling me "that is enough, pet me now." Now I have to check out Summer's pics.
