Description

I was wondering whether or not to post this image because IMO this isn't a good image, even by my standards. I wasn't really happy about it because I sort of lost my vision for the image along the way. Going in I had a pretty specific vision (PoV) and an objective: work with scenery more as that's my weakness. Long story short I got the wrong PoV and lost my vision because I focussed on working with the scenery. However I think the scene is less than the sum of its parts so that is a failure as well. So I ended up deciding on posting this as sort of a reminder on how not to make and image and not to lose your vision. I gave it a title based on what it ended up looking like and not what I originally wanted it to be.

I understand your frustration! The fae son't look too impressed either! You'll have to call them back for the next round.

I find this interesting in light of my "No photos!" post a couple of days earlier. It seems, after all, that faeries don't like to be photographed! I agree that backgrounds are hard; less so in Poser than in DAZ. I find that using the perspective tool in Photoshop with a background that is otherwise not useable can make one that is - as in the lilypads in "A Moment of Silence for Summer's End" that I just posted. My most difficult aspect is lighting. It can make such a difference - but it is difficult to achieve and retain; particularly when you're combining renders with photos in post-work. Thanks for sharing your difficulties as well as your successes!

Perhaps it isn't what you wanted to do, but it's a work well done anyway! :)
