Description

*please view at full size for best effect* One of the core worlds of the Terran Protectorate, the planet York is the heart of humanity's starship construction industry. There are more than thiry shipyards in orbit over the planet, a dozen of which are the massive Hampton-Class Type One Anchorages which serve the Stellar Navy. Capable of docking 12 capital ships in their primary docks, and many smaller ships in four massive docking bays, these stations serve as construction facilities, repair docks, and fleet resupply and mustering points. Needless to say, any enemy attempting to assault the York shipyards would have to do so with an overwhelmingly large fleet and be able to dig in for a long, brutal campaign. While the shipyards above are needed for capital ships, destroyers, frigates and fighters are built in numerous factories on the ground, and York can field a staggering number of starships if attacked. Ships modeled in DOGA-L3, space station modeled in Carrara and Hexagon. Space background created in GIMP 2.6. Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

That is a very interesting and different space habitat. On the down side, it seems way too bright to me. Think there should be more contrasting shadows on it and the spacecraft. Surface,of course, could still be very bright, but the sky ought to be black.
