Description

Half the folks I know on Rendo like to see it all. The other half like to see only part of the whole. This is for all of you who like the bits and pieces. My daughters had plastic big wheels when they were 4-6 years old...BUT NOTHING THIS BIG. 7' 2" driving wheel from Steamer 999 in my previous upload. Bill:)

I like the detail very much. I'm not fundamentalist as for detail and cropping vs. whole thing. It depepnds on the author's mood, what s/he wants to say with an image, etc. So do as you feel like!

Lovely shot Bill thats some big wheel, well captured, would have also been good to have someone standing near it to give a relationship of its size... As Barbara said it didnt look as big on the loco when seen as a whole.. which is what my thought was when I read it on the stats in the link you kindly put up on the first shot.. Excellent capture!!

Even though I belong to the half that wants to see it all, I must admit that this is one fine composition, with those impressive contrasts, of the vast wheel, Bill.

I am drawn more toward the whole enchilada .never the less, an excellent pov and shot.the drive wheels on one of 25 made(5 remaining) longest articulated locomotives ever to run in the US(most of the world) which is in the rail museum here, is 68"(4-8-8-4) Wheel arrangement I believe but I have stood next to it and it seems much taller.St Louis has one also
