I didn't even see this till now (and I was online when you posted it!)...Tara thank you for such a loving portrait, I feel your care in it the way I feel it from you in person (& the way everyone else does, the way you look out for us wherever we go)...the few times a terrific photographer has actually done a picture of me I've always done a double-take, I mean I 'recognized' myself but I didn't recognize myself, and I feel like you photographed something inside of me, it's so uncanny. You captured my happiness but also my quiet and even my recession, my pulling into myself; it's all there, and you did it lovingly with the touch of a true friend & someone who really cares. It's hard to leave my usual talk about light & composition, lol (I mean it's me up there, not easy to do an analysis!), but with all that you do you caught inner & outer parts of me all at once & I feel 'seen', and having talked about that with your portraits of others, it's uncanny to talk about it with mine! It makes me feel truly grateful. You're one of my favorite people too, Tara, I got to see how you looked-out for everyone, even in the way you smiled when they turned around or were there when they didn't know it, being sure they were ok, etc etc; thank you so much for putting that into your portrait (your portraits hug people!) Lots & lots of thanks, I feel seen & hugged at the same time. I'm not faving 'me', I'm faving you & what you did with me. A real gift, thank you so much tara...

Well met and well taken! For me, Mark was the surprise of the weekend, being totally unaware of his posts, but familiar with some of his comments, Cheri explained to me who he was on the way down. I think you explained it best, on Sunday, while chatting with Cheri, how everyone turned out to be real, no pretenses or facades, we all really were who we are. It was so wonderful to actually meet some of my favorite people here on this site, and actually talk in person,......and laugh, there was a lot of that too! There's something about this particular man I can't quite put my finger on, I realize that we had met for the first time on Saturday, but the feeling is more like I've known him forever. I find this most interesting and intriguing. You have captured the essence of Mark so well in this, it's not often ones photo is so well done that what's presented also brings out the inner being too!

A touching caring portrait of a giving, caring, spiritual and joyful person. Even though I've never met Mark, I can feel the essence of his personality in this portrait. You've captured the unique person that shines through in his writing, comments, and art work. I'm glad you all had such a great time. Chicago is a wonderful city and it looks like you had the perfect weather for photography while you were there.
