Description

Polynesians are enamoured with flowers in general and putting flowers in their hair in particular. Fresh 'tiare' or hibiscus blossoms are worn behind the ear or braided with palm fronds and other greenery into floral crowns. Upon boarding the Tahiti Nui flight at LAX every passenger was given a flower and when boarding Tahiti Nui flight back to the US every passenger was again given a flower. Flowers were waiting in my hotel room. The locals tuck these blossoms behind their ear. Tucked behind the left ear means he or she is taken. Tucked behind the right ear means he or she is available. This picture was taken on 14 August 2009. Thank you for viewing, commenting, and favs, Sig...

I was thinking the same thing as Richard! Yes, it's tough when travelling, but you took a great candid and I'll bet she smiled at you. Worth the trip!
