This brings back memories that I thought were long lost in time of my mother taking such great pains to have a lovely birthday party for me with 5 of my very best and best mannered friends in the neighborhood. She would decorate the table with favor cups and little plastic jewelry, set up games with prizes for the winners and prizes for the losers because no one ever when home without feeling like a winner. Balloons and pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey. I waited for hours for the first friend to appear outside on the sidewalk carrying a wrapped box that would go on the gift table until the cake was cut adn the ice cream served. Oh, what a wonderful photo this is. It brings back so much.
