Description

Just for a bit of fun, I've brought together some of the starships from the Cambrian Moons universe, inevitably dominated by those of the Lazloi. There is a kind of progression as I transitioned from Truespace (which created the Storm class blockade runner, Raven and Osprey), through to Hexagon and the smooth flowing shapes of the later Lazloi vessels and the Skipjack. Some how, I'm not sure I am any better a modeler in spite of the intervening years - as always, it's lack of application and patience! View full size to see captions clearly. Thanks for looking

All are fine models Mark, i am rather fond of the Sword then the Skipjack my self ! About patience always a factor in my projects also allot depends on whats going on in life, sometimes it stifles the creative flow ! : )

A very interesting look at your modeling work. Sadly most 3D software sometimes doesn't lend itself to patience, being less than intuitive in layout and operation. That makes the work more frustrating than it needs to be (I think). That said, you're doing some beautiful work.

Nice set of ships. I like the little person there for a sense of scale.

I like the bulkieness of the storm. And the sleekness of the Hawk But the design I like the most isnt shown... the hovercar you did not fa back. Interesting to see the progression. Have hexigon, Have never cracked it open.. Not even to play with it. I might now knowing what you used to model your ships with. Maybe ill get good enough one day to recreate some of my ships in them

Dunno, hard to separate the craft from your stories: Raven Class "Screaming Fist" has stuck with me.

Nice to see them in scale. It helps get a feel for size.

Very cool - you could also have added your land vehicles from your earlier work though they'd be a bit small compared to the space ships - perhaps a land vehicle medley? Finally checked out your site last night - v e r y n i c e !! I don't know Hex but trueSpace (the latest 7.x releases) is my favourite modelling app - definitely quirky but nice to use.
