Description

I think I'm prepared to apologize for some of America's actions around the globe in the past 8 years.

Please don't forget all the good things we've done for those less fortunate too.

I make no apology for America, no mater what the America haters (home grown or from overseas) say. Most of the countries in Europe have centuries of blood on thier hands and thousands upon thousands of Americians have died or have been wounded pulling the world out of the messes they have created.

Original comment: It's the real Americans who can admit that we're not a perfect country and that we have plenty of blood and injustice on our relatively young hands as well. Nice job and statement. New one: "It is typical leftist tyranny to suggest that one is not a “real American” if we do not wish to run around the world apologizing for being America." Oh give me a freaking break, it's the right that did nothing but call anyone who disagreed with Bush in the slightest a "traitor" and "un-American". I'm not saying you're not a real American if you don't run around apologizing for being American, I said it's a real American who can simply admit that we're not a perfect country. I appreciate your service to this country, I just hope you're not blinded by the incredible hypocrisy and racist fanatics that the Republicans now mainly consist of.

Origional comment: LOL @ Tommy 3d. Starting an illeagal war.... is this part of your 'greatest force for good'? USA and the UK should be ashamed for the war in Iraq. (and that's just the most recent 'action') New one: @ Wesley Thomas - Who said anything about hating Americans? Just because people disagree with what Bush has done does not make them immediately American haters. Such black and white views, I think, has been detrimental to America and it's people. Interesting dialogue we have here ;) @SnowSultan - nice one :)

Original comment: Don't apologize for me either. America has been the greatest force for good than any one in history. When the chips are down we ALWAYS step up to the plate. We can't always please everyone, but we try while others just bitch and moan. And we are not alone, when others step up they get criticized also. When one tries to do the right thing, those who can't or won't whine, but never offer any workable solutions. New Comment: It is typical leftist tyranny to suggest that one is not a “real American” if we do not wish to run around the world apologizing for being America. To debase ourselves in front of the world is defeatist thinking and only serves to weaken and cheapen our country and ourselves. Have we made mistakes…yes, will we make more, yes again. Hindsight is 20-20, one can only base a decision on the facts available at the time. On balance the good America has done FAR outweighs our few bad policy decisions. Let the cry babies weep and wring their hands, as for me, I am proud of our country, proud to be an American, and proud to be a veteran who has shed blood for this country. You may now proceed to attack me. Remember two things however, more Americans think like me than think like you, and I personally don’t give a shit if you like me or not. Hugz, Tommy New and improved comment: 1) I am not blinded by the B.S. of the right or left, I think about as much about Rush Limbaugh as Michael Moore. I don’t like extremists from either side of the political spectrum. 2) I have heard with my own ears Pelosi, Dean & company say that if one does not support Obama they are racist. Now THAT is racist. Cuts both ways. 3) @Turner…I read your posts…you say America or Americans in your comments, and seldom just Bush, that offends me. It sounds very much America hating. Again, cuts both ways. 4) Just for the tally books, I think that Bush is a moron. He took his eye off the ball and attacked Iraq, a country that had no involvement with 911 or radical Islam. In fact Iraq was keeping Iran, a real problem state, in check. Not to mention the lives lost and damage done, that action was against our own interest as a nation. I am a fiscal conservative, Bush spent money like it was going out of style on the war and the idiotic bail outs of the companies that were raping America…he is NO conservative!! I can see no real leader in either political party at this time, hell Obama spends more money then Bush and we have nothing to show for it. He gets the Nobel prize…..FOR WHAT??? Getting himself elected??? 5) I love my country and it hurts to see it attacked. There is not now, nor has there ever has been anything wrong with America or Americans. We just seem to be cursed with an over abundance of idiot politicians the last 2 decades. Now that’s what I think, you don’t have to agree, just respect my right to say it.
