Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

What fun! I should love to that. This is super, the way you show the heads!

These heads remind me of a row of watermelons. But I've never seen watermelons looking at a fountain. Great shot. I even saw a traffic control officer on a Segway in Chicago.

Great shot and title!

Looks like balls floating in the water! Great shot Marilyn... well caught! :)

I love that you cut off their heads ... what a fun shot! And the title you ended up using is great. :D

I think there were several more of these floating around in the fountain, perhaps used for some strange Chicagoan ritual, like apple bobbing only on a larger scale....of course the bright color also reminds me of the bobber used in fishing, only with the bait attached directly to it. I'm not sure what was being lure to or from within that fountain, but it must've been big!

LOL! At first I couldn't tell what those yellow things were...I've done that Segway tour of the Chicago waterfront, it was so much fun! And yes, the fountain is a rest stop on the circuit. Of course when I went it was very, very cold, so only the very brave got close enough to sit on the edge because of the wind-blown overspray!

WOW! I'm still laughing at the title and this is the SECOND time I saw the photo here. Well, the third, since I saw it while in your camera too! You have such a good eye for this and it's deliciously quirky! I remember these guys too, and I don't remember them looking so vivid, but then you've focused on the vivid bits and did so perfectly! This rocks! It reminds me of that day--one of the last warm days in the city it seems, because now it's cold and rainy.

This is great! Love the close crop of the fountain. The water looks beautiful and the heads and title are hysterical!
