Description
We came back from Turin last night after a nightmarish journey by train. A guy had been killed on the tracks, and there were works in progress on the line. Mix it up with the fact that it was Sunday and the police had to look for the coroner and the judge (our legal system is the opposite of the Common Law)to start the work on the crime scene. Add the fact that the railways are super unionized and the railway people didn't want to work after their usual time. Add the fact that the Railway CEOs discourage it in order to save money. Add also the fact that in Italy we are not citizens, but subjects for the bureaucrats, and hence customer's satisfaction isn't important. Add to it, as a final stroke, the fact that we Italians are a bit messy (you know it, Susan, don't you?) and you have the perfect recipe for a hellish journey. And we had taken the train to avoid driving!
After an afternoon spent to catch up with comments (I know they are a bit short), I'm posting this one I made in Rome from the terrace of the Capituline Museum, on the Capituline Hill, one of the seven hills of ancient Rome. I'm still storing the shots made in Turin in an external hard disk, before going through them.
Thanks for your kind comments.

Punto di vista molto interessante, non comune che fa vedere Roma in un'aspetto diverso dal solito.

I love the architecture. Your story sounds very Italian. When I flew into Rome the bus drivers were on strike and the money changers at the airport were on strike in support of the bus drivers. So I had to take a taxicab and change money with him. And I was still suffering from the food I had in Paris (rather urgently so). So you see, it could have been worse. But I still had a wonderful visit. Perhaps Italy needs a strike by the consumers?
