Description

Widow Skimmers are near the top of my favorite Dragonfly species. They are almost 2" (48mm)long and very distinctive. The males are a bit more colorful because of the white wing markings but the females have a very pretty golden body color that contrasts with the dark wing markings very nicely. They are pretty bold and will allow close approach if one moves slowly. They repeatedly return to the same favorite spots. I have lots and lots of images of them. So many in fact, that I intend to post images of male Widow Skimmers all week, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

Bella macro! Vero: Muovendosi poco e dolcemente tornano sempre allo stesso posto permettendo di avvicinarsi a pochi centimetri. Bella macro! Truth: Moving back slightly and gently at the same place allow you to approach a few centimeters.
