Description

If you want to live... While the first version was inspired by a pivotal scene in the first episode of the series, this 2nd version is my own style and take on the favorite line. Same truck (and paint job), same gal, figgerent clothing, different setting, this time at night, perhaps a little more suggestive intentions (totally open to your interpretation :) ). Yeah, as the signature denotes, this render was done in '08, around October-November IIRC. I do remember I had alot of fun setting this one up in a good way. This perhaps was the 2nd or third after-dark style render. The experimentation was with the lighting, going soley by streetlamp, one behind the camera, and one or two farther down behind the truck. It wasn't easy finding lamp posts, but I managed to find one. The streetlamps were a tricky balance for getting the range, falloff and shadow softness just right. I did want to add more, and at a larger resolution, though at the time I still had only 2gb of ram and Carrara didn't want to co-operate. Likely would've added some parking meters and a parked car or two on the other side of the street. I also had to make the sidewalk and pavement, as the provided textures from either set was a bit too low res. You may also notice, my outdoor street renders from that time pretty much consisted of re-arranging 2 of MrSparky's building freebies, since really, thats all I had to work with compared to the expanded selection I'v bought since then. Maybe I'll revisit this scene at some point. Or maybe I shouldn't change a thing. Only postwork is the frame border and text effects. Everything else pure Carrara render. Texture on the truck is my own custom made shader. I'm curious to know which version (or both) do you like better, and why. Thanks for looking. Your opinions, comments and critique is always appreciated.

Thx Noel :) The truck is Pickup Truck by Serrge , although I gave it my usual Carrara shader treatment :) Its not a bad little truck if you have the PC membership. Only the endgate doesn't flip down.

This has got to be one of your best renders to date. You've really nailed the lighting on this one, it makes the scene look so natural.
