Description
Sorry, I couldn't resist the pun!
Taken from inside one the underground tombs at "The Tombs of Kings" complex, Paphos (Cyprus) looking out into the sunken rectangular courtyard - through the hole.
These courtyards were surrounded by Doric columns carved from the rock about 300 BC. Originally the tombs were covered with stucco and the walls decorated with frescoes - traces of which can still be seen on the walls in the side chambers, if you crawl into them and look carefully - if you disturb a pigeon while doing this it makes you jump!!

The construction must have been one of massive pride as well to have stood so long and so well. Great peek through the wall at these columns.
