Oh, I do like this! I like roads and I like that this road leads to a small secluded enclave of humanity. I like the solitary bird up on the wire, the dusty hills and the softly lit hillside and grass. The rusty farm bureau sign and the gate are another hint of the seclusion and shared memories located just down the road. It seems to have special resonance with the second verse of John Denver's song. I hope your memories bring you more joy of remembrance than sorrow of departure.

I have to say it now Its been a good life all in all It's really fine To have the chance to hang around ... And talk of poems and prayers and promises And things that we believe in How sweet it is to love someone How right it is to care How long it's been since yesterday What about tomorrow? What about our dreams... All the memories we share? -JD "Just thinking of departed loved ones." It's always good that we do. We all have just such an image as this within us, very close to the heart. That's what makes this photograph so touching .. the simplicity of its universal relevance. What moves me the most is how akin to memory itself it is; close, but not close enough to touch. Because of the position of the fence, it gave me an initial impression that this was a view from a driver's side window. And you know how it is ... objects in the rear view mirror always appear closer than they really are. Terry
