Interesting combination of elements old and new (ship, hut, spear, suit). The feeling of desolation is well achieved in what concerns the landscape elements. Regarding composition, I have two points, just personal opinions: :-) a) I personally think it's not a good idea to put the character so close to the right and looking to the right because it invites the viewers eyes to leave the image. The spear pointing in the same direction reenforces this. I think it would have been better to put both (character's eyes and spear) pointing inside the image, so that the viewers eyes would return to the image. b) The crop is very tight all around the image, which, IMO, would be more fitting to a dynamic scene and not to a calm and introspective scene such as this. Furthermore, I think that in order to reenforce the desolation, it would have been better to show more of the vastness around the character and so putting all main elements away from the image margins would be good also from this perspective.

I like this image, but have to agree with Rutra above. Think it would have been better to have made the picture shape a horizontal rectangle, or panorama style instead of so square.
