Description

I have been mia for the last few days- actually since Sunday.I was admitted to hospital..:( Had a serious infection again in my leg- white cell count was to high this time for them to let me home right away. I have a condition with my legs called Lymphedemia -kinda like what woman get in their arms after they have a breast removed and the lymph glands also are taken.-It swells really big...Mostly my left leg. is the worse of them both.-then there is a secondary thing that happens and that is the one that causes the trouble- it is called Cellulitis I had a really high temp and it happened so fast that they were worried about my heart and brain...So I was watched pretty well for 2 days....home now on bed rest (I was told Not to be on my feet untill about a week and then only for a short time at the most for each day) Here is what I have and what I get because of it. Lymphedema is the blockage of the body's lymph nodes, causing lymphatic fluid to build up and cause swelling in a portion of the body. Lymph vessels collect fluid — which includes protein, water, fats and other waste products — from throughout the body and carry it to the lymph nodes, where the waste products are filtered out and the lymphatic fluid is recirculated in the body. Cellulitis (sel-u-LI-tis) is a common, potentially serious bacterial skin infection. Cellulitis appears as a swollen, red area of skin that feels hot and tender, and it may spread rapidly. Skin on lower legs is most commonly affected, though cellulitis can occur anywhere on your body or face. Infections on the face are more common in children and older adults. Cellulitis may affect only your skin's surface — or, cellulitis may also affect tissues underlying your skin and can spread to your lymph nodes and bloodstream. Left untreated, the spreading infection may rapidly turn life-threatening. That's why it's important to seek immediate medical attention if cellulitis symptoms occur. I just hope that everyone is doing well....( at least better than me) lol love you guys Anne
