Description

Alright, it looks good now. I messed up on the dark side of the nose a bit, but was able to save it (I hope). Lesson learned...go very very light, and then go darker. Some heavy overspray on the edges, but I was able to whiten it out a bit. Lips are a bit crooked, and I need some practice as to what colors to actually use (I ended up using neon pink and a dash of red. Also the teeth are off center. Oh, and I sprayed a very light brown all over the face and some pink on the cheek. But for something I haven't done in a couple of years...ehhh....lol I feel like I am missing something here. But give me your best or your worst....I can take it, lol.

You listed your areas that are troubled, I agree. As artists growing up, I'm sure you were told by others "You're not an artist if you have to trace" - don't listen to that.... The more you dial in pin points and draw your image, the better your image will be. the eyes are what people look straight at... then they go for the mouth and obviously hit the nose on the way there... so, your three areas: Eyes, nose, mouth - is the start of your grading... You know where you stand... but you're only going to get better with practice... I want you to really think about this next question.... are you right handed? If you are, do you draw frow left to right?.... see, some artist don't care about this, but it is VERY IMPORTANT... if you start on the right and work to the left it is hard to line up your images... I feel you started out way too dark... but... you didn't add enough darkness at the end - lol... I'm talking about the nose.... You could of put more drarkness on the nose - the eye shadow even calls for it... anyway, I do like it, but I do feel if you would of worked on it just a little longer, your nose, mouth and hair would of come out better. ... On tee shirts, you really don't want to go dark and then add light on it... after it's been washes a few times and the white is the first thing to go... so keep your image as lite as possible until you're ready to fine detail it... If you're painting on canvass you can go dark to light to light to dark - because you're not sticking it in a washing machine.... I've always painted dark, so getting into airbrush was awesome to know I could go dark to light... If I was grading you on this, I'd give you a C+.... you've got some errors = that you are aware of... the PLUS is because you didn't copy the other artist's image down to the last pixel... you made it you're own. I had an artist send me an airbrush video of Michael Jackson's face little over a month ago... I tried to find it in my files to send to you but couldn't locate it.... If you want to get "great" at airbrush, find a video of someone doing an art project that you want to do with them.... run the video, watch it about 10 times... set up your air brush an paint along with it. Keep painting the same image over and over... you'll start seeing how easy it is to paint like the other artist and after you've trained yourself, you'll be reminded of little rules.... If I find that Mj video, I'll email it to you, but I don't think I have it anymore - the cool thing about the image was the artist painted this in 10 minutes, he had painted rectangle glasses on him and decided to go with the bigger bug eye glasses. Tee shirt airbrush art is tougher than a blank board... different techniques have to be taken in tee shirt art... have you tried silk screen??? for around $30 to $50 you can set your self up with a single color frame and put the image on 20 to 50 shirts before you start losing quality.... If you make an original outline image with the silk screen and then blow in the art with airbrush, Your image will look that much better... I enjoyed your art and I wrote so much, cause I can tell you have RAW TALENT... you just need to learn how to master it - you recogize your faults, that means you know what you're doing wrong - you will be able to fix them in the future.
