Description


Cerne Abbey Guest House:- Built by Abbot John Vanne between 1458 and 1470. This is one of the few monastic guest houses to survive. Guest houses were used to accommodate travellers and were part of the monastic duty of service.

Beautiful image and description! It made me think of the Cadfael books by Ellis Peters. I can remember at least one murder that Cadfael had to solve, that took place in a guest house of the monastery. Great capture!
