Description

This is an ornamental wishing well for gardens, and I imagine it in the sweet mood of a Mediterranean nymph, who doesn't care for coins, but only for generous hearts, like Cheri's. In Greek mythology, the Naiads or Naiades (running water) were a type of nymph associated with fresh water. They were often the object of archaic local cults, worshipped as essential to humans. Oracles might be situated by ancient springs. The Germanic and Celtic peoples also considered springs and wells sacred places. Germanic peoples were known to throw the armour and weapons of defeated enemies into bogs and other pools of water as offerings to their gods. Today it's also Seadog's birthday. Happy birthday, I'll post a photo for you tomorrow, because I can post only one per day. Thanks for your kind comments.
