Description
Today's upload takes us back to the National WWI Museum in Kansas City. I have employed a High Contrast Blue Filter for this coming out of the shadows view.
This is a French built FT17 light tank. It was built by Louis Renault...who's company is known today for building French cars and trucks.
By the war's end in November 1918, 3,177 were delivered to the French Army, 514 to the American Expeditionary Forces and three to the Italian Army.

I do think the filter was most perfect, as you captured the essence of this tank! Amazing to think back at how advanced this was for the time it was created, and how much destructive potential this had..... Historical and most intriguing artwork! Great textures and shadows as well! I really like the dramatic mood created here, especially dealing with this dark subject!

When I read the title I thought of bayonets. Stellar POV, light and shadow, and filter use in this presentation, Bill! This antiquated tank is so representive of the ones I see in old World War I documentaries and movies.

The FT17 is the true grandpa of all modern tanks and a real battlefield asset in 1918. (But an old tanker like you would know that.) The French even threw a few of these at the Germans in 1940 with predictably sad results.

Great shot and information Bill. When I was a kid we had a b&w photo of one of these tanks (or a similar looking one). I don't know where it came from, I think one of my father's uncles had taken it during the Great War!
