I first discovered photography at the age of 8or 9 when i was given an old box brownie and after a couple of years I progressed to a Kodak folding camera I remember it took a size 127 film.
My father built me a dark room in the loft and I spent many hours learning about processing and printing my films, both black and white and colour. when marrige and family came along time for the processing side of photography had to take a back seat.  After 50 years working we retired to Chard in Somerset southwest England (we think it could be the best part of the world). About 3 years ago we got into digital photography , recently my son Ian who has a site on renderosity (iambrose) talked me into joining, I am so glad he did as it's so nice to read the comments and see how other people view your pictures.Â

This is the finest pic in the whole series, and I see it NOW for the first time. Shame on me! This pic catches the great and very special atmosphere of this place, it is unbelievable. And lots of lots of steam powered vehicles in the background, tractors, lorries..... A fav!

Oh, this is a great shot. These old steam driven machines are really something special. Yesterday I uploaded what I think is a 1919 Advanced-Rumley...18HP...rear mounted steam ploughing tractor. The one I came across is non-working but every summer local farmers run their prize steamers at our local Leavenworth County Fair...next year, I'll have to go and get pictures.
