Erwitt would like this photo for several reasons. If this photograph does not stir some manner of reaction in the viewer then perhaps it's time to go switch on the television. Definite reaction, though difficult to put into words. I do like how the blackness that nestles the rose is reflected in the rose's shadows. Beautiful and evocative!
