Description

Ariad elves are a desert-dwelling character type from an rp game I cowrote with a friend of mine. It's actually a hybrid Vue/Poser render. I rendered him first in Vue but I didn't like the way he came out, and the jewelry didn't port well from poser to vue. But the skirt, shadow, and scythe came out very well. So, I imported the Vue render as a background into poser and exactly matched the camera angle so that I could composite a poser render ontop of the undesirable parts of the vue render. I think it worked out pretty welll... Image credits: I made the character morph/textures. He's wearing M3's tribal skirt with an altered texture from the Meso-American texture pack; and Elsa Wilde's boots refitted to M4. The jewelry is from Arki's Giacomo for M4. The scythe is from Horizon Redux for V4.

Well well .. that's quite the premiere! This wonderful work has the feel of a Nineteenth century Orientalist portrait. It is quite an interesting Sunday here. There have been a wide mix of great works posted in just the past few hours. Now, don't stop here. Show us more, please! Terry

Thanks, everyone! I actually based the concept of these elves more on Australian aborigonees and Egyptian art than on drow--although I did decide to market him as a drow. Future Fantasy Design--you can get him at my website philosophersegg.com if you like. ;-)
