Not sure what the ground detail did, but the larger size is more detailed! I will attempt something like this. BTW - love the strata!

The ter file finally got uploaded to Ashundar - it's called "fortress". The surface of the ground is 2,000 meters away, and the textures I applied did not do much to change the ground other than the colors I think. Working with large scales does tend to provide that easy depth though.
