Description

Mona sat outside awed by the beauty of the huge city. Being from the country, what there was left of it, she was not used to the amount of lights that dotted the horizon, from the ground to the skies from the buildings, and from where the buildings ended on into the heavens above her. At home she knew that the sky was filled with so many beautiful stars, more than you could see here where the city lights competed with the celestial ones, but the myriad lights, from every conceivable direction and every shape of structure, added so many more points of light to her surroundings that she was overcome with the wonder of it all. Her parents and their work had brought them into Star City (an appropriate name thought Mona) and, though she found it strangely attractive to the eyes, the trait that she held most in common with this place was the BLUE. Everywhere she looked was a cool shade of Blue and, though very pretty, was not something she cherished feeling within her heart. She FELT blue. That was a sadness from being lonely that only a child, suddenly ripped from her normal surroundings and friends, could understand. She thought of herself this way tonight. “Blue in Blue in Blue” she said quietly, softly to herself. That was just how she felt.
