Description

Captured 10/1/09, around 8 AM, within the confines of my condominium complex. Check it out full size for awesome detail. From the lovely to the ridiculous in 24 hours. From the penthouse one day, to the basement the next, so I hope you weren't expecting orchids or roses. Just for a change I thought these shots would depict some uniqueness in my humble gallery. These long shadow things always catch my eye, and just simple everyday stuff such as tree bark, water droplets, stucco texture and peeling paint really pop out in the early morning or late afternoon. Thankx for clicking on, and tallyho.

tennesseecowgirl: Yes, quite a stretch of imagination, Lynell. Other than the fact that it's so darn long and skinny you might have a point there.

Interesting shadows, Harry! I dunno... was kinda leaning toward Bullwinkle, myself.

LOL, lynell & jodie...I can see both, Harry. The cow is a cow's head in the faucet; and bullwinkle? Yep. You don't need to explain either: This is what photographers do, and one of the joys of your gallery is finding your shots of the everyday, like 4 views of a fence, simple bricks, strange walls, low sidewalk views, etc. As a photographer-teacher once said, "the picture is everywhere if you know how to look for it". I love this shot. I can't even tell where it is: Whether it's on a wall or a flat surface—though "wall" comes to mind most...But that's what photography does—make the common uncommon, "new". Great study in texture, and #2, full-size, really has alot of texture/light stuff going on behind the faucet. Love coming back to your gallery with this piece. I'm trying to get to everyone 'once' first off, then I'll return for stuff I've missed. "I shall return" (I think someone famous said that): I love the shot.

I find the textures most interesting in the wall the faucets are attached to, I like the shadows too. Great shots.

As I looked at the first one (sideways, I'll admit) from the faucet, I saw longs legs, leading to a small bum, then a nipped waist leading to broad shoulders, leading to...a very bad case of mutilation. Turned me right off of seeing things in shadows. Great set of pictures! Love the textures and shadows!

The shadow looks like a cartoon character...just can't remember his name:) This, Harry, does add to the uniqueness of your gallery. Way to go!

Great play on shadows O'lboy. The dark shadow of the middle one, does it for me!

Well spotted, Harry; I've seen things like this too, always when my camera isn't to hand! Nice array of textures and shadows!

ah I love those, and yep you got my imagination running wild too... First one the shadow looks like a garden gnome standing tall and lifting its arms up to the head where its typical gardengnome hat is.... second one has the gnome changed into and old lady with her hair done in a bun reading a newspaper and the third one had the lady changed into a fervent serpent ready to bite
