Description

This is the second sequence to the post Here is the page: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1943239 They have been planning this since the last battle ended. On September 6th, they started building the town. The battle commenced on this Saturday night. The first rounds take hours, about 5 to be exact, because of the vastness of the troops on each side. One battle does last months of weekends, and an occasional 2 to 3 hours during the week in the evenings. This is when us girls bond or take up hobbies; we have nothing else to do while our men have sequestered themselves to the basement War Hammer room. Dave and his son’s (Justin 27 and Chris 29) are so serious about this. I get detailed progress reports after Dave gets back upstairs . He speaks about each character as if they are family friends and if we really know them and have known them all our lives. I try to keep tabs of who his key characters are, so when his comes up from battle field, and I get my recap, I know who he is talking about. Galwyn is his main character, he represents Dave. He is an Elvin Prince who rides an eagle. He goes into every battle of course and has gone into the quests on the smaller scale on the first floor game room, where all the swords are hanging. I have a post of some of that too. Here is that page: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1879355 I took two shots of the board; on the left is our hero’s side. And on the right the Invading hoard. The invaders picked a town in which our heroes had family and friends residing within. They took the town hostage and are holding captive their loved ones to draw out our heroes. Our heroes consist of an alliance of elves, dwarves, and men (much like the lord of the rings). Our invades consists of Undead, including Orc, skaven, and chaos. They, our heroes are outnumbered 2 to 1 at least. They have almost completed the shooting phase in which our heroes took out great numbers already. They had awesome dice rolls, they live and perish by those. I have faith they will retake the town and save the town people. Dave says that they have hope! Tonight is the big game; my Brett Farve is now a Viking! They are playing the Greenbay Packers, which was his team for 15 years. I have such mixed emotions right now. There is the Greenbay Packers our home team, then Brett Farve who was up until the 2007 season was the only Packer quarterback I have ever known. I cried when he retired, I cried harder when the he came back and the Packers traded him, our football legend to the NY Jets! Now he plays for the Minnesota Vikings our rival team. I can’t help it, you don’t toss your family aside if they upset you, and Brett is family. ( I still love our Farve). Thank you for looking. Thank you for all the love, support, prayers, lit candles and positive vibes. Thank you for all the comments and favs on my previous posts. Thank you all for being the most incredible people on the planet. Love and peace, Cheri

WOW!!! The are so embedded into the town that might take a miracle to break through all of that. This on is going to be a challenge and a half, almost like playing chess against another but with only half the pieces! Go elves!!!! The shooting phase went so well, and the results were way more than expected! This is really a great shot, shows all of the incredible massiveness of what we're up against, yet portrays our alliance as no slouch either! I would hate to have to face Chris' angry dwarfs, or Justin's' incredible cavalry and cannons! I'm tossed also with tonight's game, Brett has been the leader of the packers for so long, and now he's the quarterback of our biggest foe. I want Green Bay to win, but I want Brett to have a good night too! I guess we come to a cross roads here,... seldom can you have your cake and eat it too! I was raised a Packer fan, and I will never turn my back on them regardless who leads the other team. Sorry Cheri but this was his choice not mine!

Hi Cheri, My son was into War Hammers for years! Omg to see them all set up again brings back memories. (notice I didn't admit to good or bad memories..lol) And Yes, Favre is here now...in MN. I often wonder what you die hard Packers think about that. Now I know - since he is like family - how hard it can be. Well... I will tune in and think of you.

I used to do 40K but have been off of it for a couple of years. My group has fallen in to hard times at work (We have been working too much) and we never get together any more. We also do DBM a historical set. I love getting the painted figs out and have a friendly game. I even have a "man-hole" upstairs where we used to play. This image has inspired me to try to get the guys back together for a Saturday afternoon. (Hopefully we will find the time) I love the image, but com-on guys paint the figs. Naked metal is obscene. :)

What a display of force! I'm overwhelmed by the number of combatants employed to do battle for their particular God and country. But, whenever I see a mass of armed humanity such as this, so closely packed out on the field of battle, I think of all the damage and mayhem about six A-10 Warthogs could do with their bombs, machine guns and cannon after about a dozen flyovers. Incidentally, nice capture and ample information, Cheri! Sorry about Bret, but at least you have a pro football team to root for. As big as it is, Los Angeles has no pro team at all.

I see this and all I can do is think of the line: "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!" Only I can't exactly do that in an impressive Shakespearean voice. I just sound a wee bit Midwestern and nasal. Anyway...aside from that, this is wonderfully complex. I'm hanging out with a couple of guys who have extensive theater experience and I can't help but think of how they'd stage this as a Broadway musical...I'm weird like that. On the flipside of that, I'd love to see more pics...maybe a few closeups, just in case I feel the need to write a story of warfare and love or something like that. This is a fun shot. I like it!

Holy mackerel! What a display. Not familiar with the game but I've never seen anything so complex. I heard that Favre was basically asked to leave the Packers so I'm glad for him this one time. The Packers will have a chance to get even later in the season.

Wow at least he has a hobby that keeps him involved with his sons. My step son is into making chain mail, swords and the whole knights of the round table thing. There is some sort of organization he is a memeber of and they meet and have different competions. I know he has won a couple and come back really bruised up... so count you blessing he could be doing that...LOL
