Description

We were very lucky on Sunday to see the lions at the Lion Park being fed. After the initial frenzy and fighting over the food, things pretty much settled down and this lioness actually allowed the cub to join in the fun. It is not her cub... The mom and three other siblings were a couple of meters away from this female. This little one kept wandering off and I shot such neat images that I will upload in the next couple of day of mom disciplining him!!! Thank you for your comments and favs on the King upload. Make sure to stay tuned for many more lion images! Stay well! Hugs, Carin xx

Superlative shot of the lioness and cub devouring their repast. Of course, it would add to their social standing in animal land if they employed some proper table manners during their meals.

Wonderful shot! Great dof! I love the way the tree borders it and I love the out of focus branch in the back. Really looking forward to the disciplinary session.

Perfect capture and composition. We don't get to see things like this at the local zoo. Congrats on your new duties at RR. With shots like this I can see why you were chosen. Dana

Can't help but wonder about the sounds they must make when chewing on something like that... I'll bet its spine tingling!

Fantastic! This lioness reminds me of my cat, Natasha...well...my former cat. I couldn't keep her, which is a pity. She was a ball of energy, and a curtain climber that cried bloody murder whenever I clipped her claws. I bring this up because once she'd caught a mouse and made something of a red mess of it shortly before losing interest and ambling off to sun herself on a windowsill. I get the impression that this lioness will probably sun herself after feeding, as that's such a cat-ish thing to do, no matter the breed of cat. I love this photo as well as the series it belongs to, and when time starts slowing down enough for me to comment, I'm gonna come back and actually comment on the stuff I've been looking at in your gallery. Suffice it to say, this is a gorgeous and warm photo!

... die Löwin genießt ihr Festmahl sichtlich ... ein wirklich gut abgepasster Augenblick ... the lioness obviously enjoying their Banquets ... a really well-timed moment
