Description
I started this project last October and finally put it all together after setting it aside several times due to DAZ/Studio crashing during construction or rendering. The original version had 22 buildings, 20 characters (man and animal) and a dozen plants which likely had something to do with the crashes.
I wanted to create an old western scene with a train crossing a set of trestles but couldn't find a wooden trestle. I tried using one of Mapps wooden bridges but it was not suitable realisticly for supporting the weight of train. So I came up with this brilliant idea of making one myself. After 6 weeks of pulling my hair out; 857 Lumber cubes of varying sizes and 763 bolt cylinders later I had created what I thought was a reasonable trestle within DAZ/Studio. Mapping the darn thing took another two weeks and I don't want to talk about it :(.
The lumber is textured with Mapps "old wood" texture and the bolts are textured with Mapps "iron" texture which came from Mapps Wizzards set(freestuff).
The buildings are from DreamlandModels Train Expansion Bundle(Store), the engine is from TIO-Trains(freestuff). The track (Locomotive 4-6-2 set) and other cars are by Charles Lipe (freestuff). The terrain is a composite from !3D Worlds Super Terrain (freestuff) and the plants are Xfrog. The smoke and steam were achieved by using TrekieGrls ciggerette smoke.
M3 and Milhorse; clothing and saddle are from DAZ3d.

Well, it appears you've learned to accomplish what alot of people never seem too. How to manipulate item's for a variety of different purposes. Never actually tried to create anything in studio. Thought it could only create primatives. But dunno much about it, Hexagon is a pain from my standpoint. As it complains too much. Overall decent image though, thanks for visiting my gallery. Only wish I'd remembered to turn off comments.

Lots of detail in this one, hon - great reflections and I love the colours!! Well done for creating the trestle yourself - that's dedication for you.....I don't think for one minute I'd have the patience, or resourcefulness lol!!

wow, wonderful model and excellent scene. I like it this way, with the lone cowboy up on a hill!

Must be quite difficult to do that.

Wow, after reading what you said about the bridge, I was floored! I was figuring at first that you modeled the bridge in a program like Hex, Blender or similar. Modeling primitives in DAZ is a hair-pulling experience to say the least (yes, I've been there) and seeing how this came out, shows how creative and patient you are -^ I will have to fav this ^^
