Description

Alright, this dragon is now pretty much complete. Still needs a few morphs, but other than that she's done and packaged. This is the Campestergum Draconis or Flatback Dragon, so named for the lack of thorns down it's back which is a common trait among dragons. This one also uses dynamic membranes, as you can achieve much more realistic results with simulated wings as opposed to rigged. This is primarily due to the lack of weight painting in poser. Their falloff zones are not effective for rigging wings the way they should be. Anyways, he's not out yet, but should be shortly. Hopefully by next week. He was supposed to be released before the Robustus, but essentially what happened was the inner mouth was all part of the head, one mesh. One cleaning up the mesh to get rid of stray verts a couple verts from the gums merged with verts from the inner lip. I didn't know that until I tried to make some snarl morphs. So I had to seperate the gums from the mouth, remodel the sides of them, remap them, recut them into groups for poser, and then re-import the whole thing into poser. Thank the gods I learned a few things doing the Tyrannosau that made that process a lot quicker than it would have been before. I didn't know you could export a mesh from poser with the groups still intact and re-import it, apply skeleton without having to use the group tool. Wow that speeds things up!! Anyways, like I said, just need to do a few morphs for him and he'll be ready to upload. I probably won't do a but load of morphs just because like my other dragons he's not a be all end all generic dragon like the daz dragon. He is a rather specific breed. And too much morphing only stretches the crap out of the textures. But for this guy at least the saddle is nearly done as well. Rigged too. Just need to clean it up and in another coulpe of weeks that should be available, as well as the saddle for the Robustus. The rider armour will take a little longer. It's rigged, but still needs tweaking. Guess that's what happens when you don't want the steel armour on top of the clothes to bend as though it was play-doe. All well. More work. Heh. Cheers and thanks for looking! Swidhelm

Very cool. Is that the square stone? I use that ALL the time. Another great looking beastie! Are the dynamics as easy to use as they are on Robustus? Cool stuff my friend.
