Description

French wartime poster art (circa 1914-1918). Taken in June 2009 at the National WWI Museum in Kansas City. Magik, known on Rendo as MagikUnicorn, supplied me with the French translation just as you see it on the right side of the collage. Thank you Magik! Two earlier uploads of WWI poster art: 1. French Infantry Poster 2. Call to All British Women Zoom for the best look. Bill:)

Wonderful, well done and thank you also to Majik for the translation. This is powerful. I think it's about health care as well as the war of my grandfather's time.

Oooh la la, Mademoiselles from Armentieres, parlez vous. Terrific presentation of the two posters, side by side, Bill! Great that your interpreter, MagikUnicorn, was able to translate this for you.

I can't believe nobody has gone on about the postwork job you did ... everyone thinks they're looking at two posters! Astonishing. You did a fantastic job! It probably would have been quite difficult to duplicate the textured look around the edges, and your choice of how to handle that was well done. You have talent plus, my dear! :)

My Dad had these on the cellar walls when I was a kid. Rosie the riveter and all. Also one of the Titanic. Dirt floor so they were in tough shape by the time that I understood what they represented. Magik did a great job with the translation version. Thanks for sharing both. Dana
