Description
Yet another illustration for yet another of my roommate's books, entitled "The Long Road Home," set during the Mexican-American war. Well, since there are absolutely no props suited for that time period, particularly as the military goes, I decided to paint it all. My first from-scratch painted clothing. I know. Greeeeaaaat choice for a first attempt, aye? Anyone who's looked over my Deimos vampire portrait knows I'm not too good with cloth. There's no background yet, obviously.
I'm looking for pointers, or any feedback at all. I think I've been staring at it too long, myself. lol

All I can say is that you're a lot better at it than I am... lol! It looks pretty good to me so far though, no pointers, just kudos I'm afraid.

I think you should be very pleased with this, very professional. I don't know much about the Mexican-American war, but i think it gave Colt his big break ?
