a good tripod is a necessary item to capture the moon with a telephoto. I bought a large lens maybe 2 years back and my tripod would not handle it, so I found a really good head on clearance and along with a good base I can shoot the moon.now that the weather has turned cool maybe I can get out without the mosquitoes chewing a leg off cool shot any way Mic. crank up your iso and you will find it easier to shoot.200 is a good all around speed but for night shots you need much higher
