And a special gift it is. I always think of such places as they must have been before electric light. Strange, magical, and so powerful. Often that power was abused unfortunately and now many of the seats are as you have captured them....empty. The beauty of the light does go on regardless. Fine piece J.

"When the music`s over" - Do you know this old song by the early amaerican rock band "The Doors"? You create a wonderful mood in this dark room. The window in the back ist outstanding. An eyecatcher!

The arches in the gloom contrast nicely with the window, I think though I would crop the chairs out, as I find they catch the eye a bit. Just a thought!

Ken, thank you for the insightful comment. You are right, light shines even if the seats are empty. The gift of light is like that... Bill, thank you very much for your kindness. I must say that's not the music that came into my mind, although the title fits very well. I was thinking more of some Gregorian chants... :) Penters, you are quite right, a crop would be very appropriate. But I included them in the image on purpose, to better underline my idea: light shines on, whether we accept it or not... Thank you so much for the kind visit.

Oh no Julia - the chairs must stay! Without them you will lose most of the light and all of the depth in the image! I think your compo is perfect and I echo the first comment! Well done! :)

There is just enough detail in the shadow areas to give a good sense of place but not be distracting (I like the chairs in the composition. Love the atmosphere. Great capture!

Oh no! The chairs are perfect. I would never crop them out, and believe me ... I crop out EVERYthing! LOL! This is a stunning image, perfect just as it is.
