Description

I've compiled a Terragen 2 Introductory exercise for those would like to try TG2, but are daunted by its learning curve. I've made it as easy as possible to follow. It is in pdf format for easy accessibility. This is the scene you will be creating, and once you've finished, hopefully you will have a good understanding of the most important elements of TG2. Here is the link to the file: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=7733.new Should you have trouble accessing the file you can always send me a message via site mail and I'd be happy to email the pdf to you.

John, this is a good thing you've done here for others; and, is really a great thing for newcomers to follow. A beautiful piece of landscape work too!

Ahhhhhhh John the only thing missing is the piper playing by the side of the mountain. And it's glad I am that you've left the comments on. Excellent work, but what draws my eye to the distance most is the sun reflection of the tips of the clouds. Outstanding work, from the POV to the grasses on the mount.

Read it, tried it - took about an hour - still not impressed. I really don't think the climb is worth the view. But I really do appreciate all the work you put into a fine tutorial.

I'm sooooooo glad that you have started to allow comments! I have your uploads bookmarked to notify me when you upload your newest stuff! Always wanted to comment on them and am now glad that I can! I think your Terragen renders are just great and it's great to see another person that uses the Terragen program! I especially like the grass surfaces both the lighter and darker ones and am still working on getting my grass textures to look as great as these!
