Description

A debate is going to rage in the Photography Forum, which is a very good thing. Otherwise, what does a Forum stand for? The issue is:what is a photo and what a 2D image? While those interested in it should drop their opinions in the Forum, here I'm content to say that I labeled this post a Photo manipulation. After some time spent in the postwork of a shot I wasn't perfectly happy with, the outcome is a kind of tapestry work, with a velvety texture as if embroidered with silk threads. It can also be seen as a very thin bas-relief. Hence: photo manipulation or 2D? To you the hard sentence! ;-) Thank you for your kind comments.

........it is in any case BEAUTIFUL! I personally regard the photos and photo work only under the aspect whether they do to my eye well or not! Everyone cannot have a camera for many thousand euros or dollar. Or also not the money for appropriate working on programs. And: the beauty lies in the eye of the viewer!!!!!!

Its manipulation, without doubt. But its also mixed media, because here is a strong digital influence used to get this colorful result! Well done! RS

How about Convergent Media, as in the convergence of electronic manipulation and photography, and if you printed this out on handmade paper, and then did some additional work with pen and ink.... labels are silly, it's all about expression and process. Let future art historians deal with the convergence of media one sees in this era. cheers, like the work, looks great.

Lovely work which ever they want to label it. If it was taken with a camera I'd say its a photo even if you end up playing with it in PS or PSP or another photo program. To me 2D is paint on canvas or straight painting in PS or PSP etc. Oh well anyway, this is beautifully nice duck Sandra well done!!
