I like the composition and the colors you've created. That low fog looks good. Procedurally, you can do this in TG2. I have an easier way where I have some rock formations (spires, arches and other forms) where you can put them in as objects into the scene. For coloring, image maps work well.

A very wild region, where the rocks of extremely hard rock, rise like sentinels on this seemingly barren land, but with such beautiful skies and an atmosphere so dense that it prevents the image of its moon ... these mists creeping a little tociques probably ... a hostile planet ... at least to tame it! GORGEOUS creation!

Lovely formations 5*. The cloud layers need pushing up as they cut the terrain.....can you share the file Rob.. Would look ace with a volumetric atmos & clouds :-)

Looks like Lots nice possibilities on this Planet. Like WoZ says with the Cloud layers but first I would try a very large Terrain avoidance setting maybe, just pushing them away from the terrain. Super work Peace
