CREATION: To create the image, I started out in Blender creating the 3 Pyramids at Giza. The pyramids were subdivided and each block or stone was extruded one at a time for each of the 3 Pyramids to give a unique look for each. A base model of Anubis was created in Blender and then sculpted in ZBrush with the final details added and then brought back to Blender for placement in Khafre's Pyramid. Anubis is also left bare only in chains since he was entombed. Final render in Blender and then added the lightning and the grainy sand effect in Photoshop, where I also adjusted levels and contrast to finish up the image. CONCEPT: The concept is at the time of Fourth Dynasty during the rule of the Egyptian Pharaoh Khafre, the god Anubis was enchained by order of the Pharoah for all eternity. Anubis now in chains and buried deep beneath the sands for refusing to hand over any articles from the god Isis. Khafre wanted Anubis trapped, never to escape, so he decided to build his tomb in the location of the aligning star from above and the entombed Anubis below. Now, in modern day, the battle scarred Anubis has been awakened by Isis and has emerged from beneath the sands more powerful than ever. Khafre will be found and destroyed along with his armies.
