Sam Kennison once said, "We have deserts in America. WE DON'T LIVE IN 'EM!!!!" At first I found this funny. Then I found it shallow and offensive. Then I wondered why people would live in a place where there is no food and people can kill them with impunity. Then I wondered why they don't just move to someplace nice. Then I wondered how I got so centrated. Then I wondered why I was thinking of these things. Then I realized that regardless of the delivery, or what I thought of what he said, Sam had made me think. That's what this picture does. I bow to you in honor of your effort.

I haven't had someone tell me "there are children starving in other countries" for years. Your piece really puts things in perspective. Thanks.

I have to disagree with you Frag (Respectfully). Politics rule our life and to say that an image that has a political message should no be shown here is absurd. I think The work is very good. People in the word ARE starving through no fault of their own, some eople in the west ARE taking prosperity for granted and growing fat off it. Politicians ARE corrupt but that is not the fault of the mother or her children. I like art that makes me think and this makes me think.

While I disagree with a statement above that USA prospers from third world countries, I must express my agreement that SO many Americans are guilty of conspicuous consumption. Just take a look at the stuff teenagers buy. It's embarrassing to me, and I am an American. To further encourage you and the others who have commented here, Renderosity contributors would do well to increase their quality level. Not everything can, nor needs to have profound meaning or symbolism, but when a piece of art heads in that direction we need to shift our own sensibilities to match it. That's not so hard to do, is it? Now, I just have to tell you, I'll be expecting more like this one!

Such pics are necessary. Graphic expression can also remind us of reality. Sorry if I don't say more, my english isn't good enough, it would take me hours.

It's amazing the number of people who know what has no place here. I have many times wanted to comment on some of the nudity here that is created just because Poser will let you do it and has no artistic value what so ever. They are things that would be better served on Renderotica. I have come to realize, though, that the things posted here are judged, rated, and or commented on, and that is what says if they have a place here. Good art is rated well or is commented on favorably while other artists are helped by suggestions about their art. Things that have no place here are not looked at or commented on and fall by the wayside. The community decides what has a place here by their encouragement, not one person, however good intentioned that person might be or the reasons behind their feelings. In my opinion as a member of the community this is an exceptionally good work of art. Antoonio, congratulations on starting up this furor. It's definitely one of the reasons for having art. I stood there, watching this image a long long time, after I've read Frag999, and asking me : "What that ? we are on an artistic forum, and somebody tells us about the dollar corruption" Hey Man, an artist (or somebody who wants to be, an amateur just like me)can do "empty" picts (just like I do) or engaged works...JUST LIKE HE WANTS.THAT'S ART. You can disagree with the message (if dollar is your first interest, right to you), but you can't tell Antoonio his image has no place here. Sorry to say that and I would have been also respectfully (nice to you Glengarry), but your ideas piss me off and I still wonder why people like u are going to Africa for their holidays : you have nothing to learn there, because you won't be able to. Don't waste your time and your dollars. YOU SUCKS, SORRY, BUT YOU SUCKS.

The image is a good work:
You're right, Glengarry. In fact, we Europeans (I'm from Germany) and you Americans live on the cost of the poor people in the 3rd world. Yes, the poltitcians are corrupt, but the poor people have to pay for that.

Thank you MALLO, evil has many forms as well in art, again I may have THOUGHT it ment something but I am not ashamed to say after my tours over S.E. asia and down in Panama, and lastly, Angola, I am ashamed that this is supposed to make everyone think, unless you have been there and seen it, taken pictures of it, wake up in dead sleep dreaming of the bad days I had and had seen then again one might understand what evil lurks in a pen or brush, these are my last words and visit here, I may offend 1 or many but at least I am ashamed of the what I have seen and to have someone make a piont whne in reality THEY have never been there, tell me about it. We the guys I served with in V.N. know nothing of art, we only knew that we helped regardless to what our commander in chief had to say. Since then we(3 of us left) trust no one, but again I am gone, ashamed. It's not worth it.

by the time i got here, this frag's message was gone and i wish i could have seen it for sheer entertainment value. from what i gather, he said it wasn't art. pity the fact that his perspective has been bent by vapid fascists.
