The background was a grey wall..one of three parrots performing at the Ren Faire this year...could someone identify what type he is...

Have no idea what the type is, but it could not be any more colorful--hard to believe birds like this really exist--they are just gorgeous!!

Appears to be a Scarlet Macaw whose range extends from extreme south - eastern Mexico to Amazoniain Peru and Brazil. They are hailed as the smartest of the parrots. they live to be an average of 40 years old but with proper care they have been known to live to be 75. Great shot you got of this one!

wonderful! it's a macaw, and a very endangered animal as to that. It's trade is illegal as it is that of its feathers.

My mother-in-law had a macaw (not a scarlet) but had lots of blues & greens...His name was Edward...he could talk...we would babysit him sometimes...he lived to be in his 60's...nice shot
