Abstract Expressionism? That is a mouthful. Well seen, photographed and cropped to fit the genre. Glad Andrea dropped Rothko's name:)

I love Andrea's comment. Any comparison to Rothko leaves you far, far ahead in that race! With something like this, I always ask myself, "How long can I view this image before I get bored?" (My attention span for Rothko can be measured in minutes.) The answer for a piece like chunk is "A VERY long time!" There are so many details, so much variety, so many intersections of pattern and color and texture. I can view it as a whole, or isolate one part, or focus on a detail, and then start all over again, over and over again! A fabulous and fascinating work!

It is just a brick wall covered over with plaster. Something you would walk past everyday and never notice. But the true artist's eye produces something enormously compelling. Even the composition is exquisite, the gray portion lending a certain asymetry. Браво Сэр!

If "seeing" is not easy ... to be able to show what one saw is not at all easy ... I even would say that is a "blessing" ... but you, Nikolay, you do that! I salute you for your subtlety.: So, you show the different textures and colors, into a composition that show us a true masterpiece. as koosie says that "a painting with a camera." And the word that springs to mind is "closed".Superb work!

WOW! This is superb! I agree with the commentaries that state your ability to paint with a camera...you do that and so much more. The textures in this are like deft brushstrokes: not the captured kind that are a part of the structure itself, but in your choice of what to show, what you don't show, and how you see the subtle play of forms. This is great and inspiring work.
